Upper Saranac Foundations crowd funding campaign to remove harmful aquatic invasive species (AIS) at Fish Creek Ponds

PLEASE SHARE WITH ALL WHO ENJOY THE WATERS OF THE SARANAC LAKE WATERSHED.

Milfoil is degrading Fish Creek Ponds Public Campgrounds water quality, its recreational value, and has the potential to do the same to Upper Saranac Lake.  The ability to enjoy clean, weed-free, water- based recreation is being threatened.

For this reason, the Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) is looking to expand its successful AIS hand-harvesting program to Fish Creek Ponds, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP.  The USF along with the Adirondack Foundation has created a crowd funding campaign with the intent of targeting a large number of people to support this effort. This is only a small part of the funding effort, but is important to get the word out to a large number of donors who can make small contributions.

Please consider making a donation of any size ($5, $10, $20 or any amount). Also, please share our funding campaign with all that you know who enjoy the waters of the Saranac Lake Watershed.   For more information and to donate, go to https://adirondackgives.org/campaigns/help-us-remove-harmful-aquatic-invasive-species-ais-at-fish-creek-ponds/#description.

This campaign is just getting started, but only lasts through August, so acting quickly is important. Harvesting AIS at Fish Creek Ponds will begin in early fall.

Please pass this along to anyone you know who enjoys spending time on our waters.
Thanks in advance for your consideration and support.
